Commands

Every typed command in the bar and every slash command in Discord, on one page. In the bar, type / in the chat box and a list of the ones you may use appears above it, narrowing as you type; the same words work without the slash, and a line that matches nothing is said out loud as typed.

Everyone

CommandDoes
/invite DamonInvites someone, wherever they are on the server, to your room: they get a line with Go and Not now. A kind of whisper: it needs room_dms, and a closed door (privacy) refuses it unless they've whispered to you lately.
/goto boardroom · /gotoThrough to another room (by address, name, or one of the names the room is also called on its settings screen; same login, same look). On its own, the list of rooms here. go to the boardroom works too. Clicking a door in the picture is this command. Needs transport_self (members). /goto https://… is a web address instead of a room: this tab goes there, and you're out of the room the moment it does (another bar, a reference page, anywhere).
/doorsShows every door in the room for five seconds, frames and names. Holding Control does the same for as long as it's held (the original's Control, or Control+Shift on a PC). On a Mac a Control-click still goes through the door.
/open https://…A web page in a new tab; you stay in the room. Only http and https addresses. A door in the picture can be this too.
/avatarOpens the outfit editor (see Props). Same as Change avatar / props… in the look picker or Change avatar… on your own head's menu.
/rename CountessGo by a chosen name here. It's shown in italics as an alias, and your Discord name stays on the "who is this" line of your menu, so nobody can pass for someone else. call me Countess works too. Needs rename_self (members).
/mynameBack to your Discord name. (my name, real name.)
/nakedTake everything off; your smiley is back.
/takeoffDrop your topmost prop on the floor at your feet, for others to pick up. (take off.)
/dm off · /dm onClose or open your door to whispers. With it closed, only people you've whispered to first, and a barowner, can whisper to you. Same as the privacy box under Preferences.
/bolt · /unboltBolt this room's door from the inside, or draw it back. While it's bolted nobody new comes in (a barkeep can, announced), nothing reaches Discord, and what's said is sealed between the people inside, so the house can't read it and Harry doesn't hear it. The last one out draws it back.
/mute Ada · /unmute AdaStop hearing someone, for you alone; their balloons vanish from your screen and they aren't told. Also on their menu.
/sounds · /sounds off · /sounds 3The notification sounds: say how they're set, switch them off, or set a level 0–7. The 🔔 button and the Sounds section of the look picker do the same.
/play doorbellHear one sound, just you: doorbell, door, knock, name, murmur. Harry, play the door works and Harry doesn't answer it.
/settingsOpens the settings screen in a new tab, for whoever holds a part of it (see Hosting).
/hidebadge onGo without the ✱ that marks a barkeep or barowner. Needs hide_badge.
/spoof memberPose as a lesser tier (guest, member, barfly, clotheshorse, barkeep) to see the bar as they do; /spoof off ends it. A striped tag in the top bar says you're posing; click it to stop. A gag, a ban or a raised floor that would land on the pose only takes it off. Needs status_spoof.

A door in the picture issues one of these commands when clicked, as if you'd typed it, with your own permissions: usually goto a room, but a shape on the wall can just as well be open https://… (a page beside the bar), goto https://… (out of the bar to another server's room, or any page), or play doorbell. A door can't put words in your mouth; only commands run.

Whispering isn't a command: click a head and choose Whisper, then type; the chat box turns violet and the × at its end (or Esc) takes you back to talking out loud. Painting, likewise, is the ✎ button.

Pinned signs

LineDoesFlag
^^ Trivia at 8Pins a sign at the top of this room's picture, for everyone, until taken down.announce (barkeeps)
^^^ Big event at 7pmThe same sign in every room on the server.announce
^^ · ^^^Alone: takes that sign down.announce

One ^ is still your own sticky balloon. Signs outlive sessions, resets and restarts, show in the Discord picture, and are logged.

Prefixes on a line

These aren't commands but change what the line does; the quick start has the full table. A first character of : makes a thought balloon, ! an excited one, ^ a sticky sign that stays up until your next line, @x,y places the balloon; an emoticon such as :) or ;) at the start changes your face before you speak. Two or three of these combine, in any order.

Asking Harry

Harry takes sentences, not commands. Anything with his name in it reaches him; the lines below are the shapes he acts on, and only barkeeps (holders of command_ghosts) get more than an answer.

SayHe doesWho
Harry, what's good?Answers in a balloon from the painting. Once he has, you're in conversation for a minute or two and needn't say his name; end a line with over to get one answer and then quiet.anyone he hears
Harry, hush · pipe down · we're playingHe says nothing for ten minutes or until his name comes up.anyone
Harry, forget meWipes what he's kept about you across evenings.anyone
Harry, stopClears his balloons and tells him to stand down.barkeeps
Harry, take me to the boardroom · Harry, take us all to the beach · Harry, send Ada to the armoryTakes you, one person, or the whole room to another room; he's there too and carries on. He moves everyone only when you say "all" or "everyone"; without the word, only you go. A room is one picture: nothing changes in the room you leave except that you're gone.anyone with transport_people (barkeeps)
Harry, let's play chess · play checkers · play backgammon · back to the barMacros: a phrase mapped to a command runs as you before Harry hears anything. let's play chess takes you to the chessboard room (the board lays itself out; another player finds you there); let's all play chess takes the whole room, which needs transport_people. Set on the Harry tab.anyone (the command's own permission applies)
Harry, put up a banner that says Trivia NightA banner, a sign, a shape, a badge under someone's name (give Ada a badge that says Champion).barkeeps
Harry, find a picture of a ring-tailed lemurHangs a picture from Wikimedia Commons or Openverse on the wall; paste an https image address and ask for that one and he fetches it. next picture and previous picture cycle the candidates; what's in the picture? makes him look.barkeeps (anyone may ask what's in it)
Harry, clean the roomClears the loose props off the floor.barkeeps
Harry, use the word replacement gagThe 1995 word-swap list on everyone's balloons (Discord sees what was typed).barkeeps
Harry, whiteboard · let's play Pictionary · let's do trivia · Wheel of CheeseOpens the floor for a game right here: the whiteboard goes up on the wall behind the people for drawing; scoreboard, timer, dice, polls, the wheel. He narrates; the bar keeps the honest parts. Nobody goes anywhere.barkeeps
Harry, move to the leftHe walks, where he has a body.barkeeps

A line that mentions Claude or starts with bug: never reaches him; it goes to the audit log as a note for the developer.

Barkeeps: handling the room

These need handle_room (barkeeps by default). Most have a mouse form too: click a picture on the wall to select it, drag to move, drag a corner to size, the × or Delete to take it down.

CommandDoes
/next picture · /previous pictureThe next or previous candidate for the selected (or latest) web picture.
/remove pictureTakes it down.
/whiteboard up · /whiteboard downThe whiteboard object on the wall of this room, up or down; the board up button on the paint strip does the same. Needs whiteboard (barkeeps).
/clear propsClears every loose prop off the floor. Also on the floor's right-click menu.

With paint_always a barkeep paints whenever (not only when a game hands out markers) and can wipe the board from the paint strip. With ban_props, Take that picture off them on a head's menu strips a picture from everyone wearing it and bans it from the bar.

The god's tools

Each of these is its own flag, barowner by default, so a barkeep can be trusted with some and not others (the Permissions tab), or one person can be given one (a grant, on the People tab). The rank rule applies to all of them: never on someone above you, never on an equal who holds the same tool. Every use goes in the audit log with who, whom and why.

CommandDoesFlag
/gag Ada · /ungag AdaA user-mute: they keep typing and seeing their own balloons; nobody else receives them, and they aren't told. A barowner with ears_of_god still sees the lines, in a typewriter face with a dashed rim.gag_people
/ban Ada · /unban AdaOpens a small dialog: an hour, a day, a week, or for good, and a reason. They're shown out at once and refused at the door until it's over.ban_people
/bless Ada barfly · /unbless AdaRaise someone's tier by hand, whatever their Discord roles say; never to your own rank. Without a tier a dialog asks.bless_people
/send Ada to armory · /take everyone to boardroomMove one person, or everyone, to another room; they're told who sent them. Never someone above you.transport_people (barkeeps)
/floor barflyWho may come in and talk tonight: member (normal), barfly, clotheshorse. Raises every member-default flag in every room; survives restarts until lowered.set_floor
/preview off · /preview onReplaces the live picture in Discord with a black PAUSED card, and back.pause_preview

The same tools sit on a head's right-click menu (Gag, Ban…, Bless as…), and on the People tab of the settings screen, where they can be applied to someone who isn't in the room.

From Discord

Slash commands, in the room's channel or, with room:poolroom added, from anywhere in the server (a room without a channel of its own is reached only that way). Answers are ephemeral (only you see them).

CommandDoesWho
